New Look, Same Hacks: Nonpartisan Hacks Gets a Brand Refresh

Cartoon versions of podcast hosts Joel Grenz and Sean Wood listening to a podcast

We’ve been talking about good government and now we’re finally taking our own advice about good branding.

After 10 episodes of learning, laughing, and lifting the lid on how local government works, Nonpartisan Hacks has a brand-new look. The refreshed logo, color palette, and custom cartoon versions of hosts Joel Grenz and Sean Wood mark the next chapter of our podcast: sharper, friendlier, and ready for a bigger stage.

Why the Refresh?

When we first launched the show, our goal was simple: to have honest, unfiltered conversations about local government without the partisan spin. Since then, we’ve recorded episodes on a variety of good government topics and have had conversations with councillors, journalists, and policy pros about what makes government tick (and sometimes what makes it trip).

But as two people who actually work in marketing, branding, and logo design, we realized it was time our podcast looked as good as it sounds.

What’s New?

  • A refreshed logo that captures the spirit of practical politics and candid conversation.
  • Cartoon avatars of Sean and Joel bringing a little visual humor to match the banter you hear each episode.
  • Consistent episode art and social graphics so you’ll spot a Nonpartisan Hacks episode instantly, whether you’re scrolling through Spotify or your LinkedIn feed.

Same Mission, Sharper Message

Our conversations are still rooted in the same mission: making government more understandable, relatable, and maybe even enjoyable. We’re still the same two councillors from Parksville who believe that politics doesn’t have to be toxic to be interesting.

What’s Next?

We’ve got a slate of new episodes coming up with some of the most insightful voices in local and provincial politics, plus a few surprises we can’t announce just yet.

If you haven’t already, subscribe on your favorite podcast platform and follow us on social media — we’d love your feedback on the new look.
